Division 2 Promotion 2005

KMCC stormed to promotion to the first division via runners up spot clinching their position after skittling Helperby in the penultimate match of the season. Kiffer and Kenny, KMCCs Aussie import, provided the bulk of the runs whilst wickets were shared not only between Duncan and Mike Armer but also the veterans Pickles (not pictured) and Kirk. KMCCs enthusiasm was rekindled after struggling for the last two years which included a relegation from the top division. Victories in the Towler Cup, Nevitt Cup, Tanfield Trophy (and a single run defeat in the Pateley Cup) proved that success in the cups does not necessarily adversely affect league form.
