KMCC stroll home
After Scotton had lost their first couple of wickets cheaply they only had one thing on their minds - a point from every remaining game would ensure survival - - and thats all they tried for. The plan nearly backfired as wickets fell steadily to some fine bowling from Fraser (D), Blackburn and Fettes. Score at tea: 84-9, the spectators woke up to have a cuppa.
What followed quickly sent even the keenest supporter back to sleep, as KMCC edged to victory on what was not an easy pitch for stroke play. Even a rare six from captain shedley did not wake an old gentlemen spectator, but Kirkby went home happily enough with 5 points in the bag.
