KMCC vs Scotton C.C.

KMCC stutter

A curious match which only burst into life in the final five overs saw KMCC fall to fellow promotion rivals scotton off the penultimate ball of the day. Kirkby had won the toss and made a defendable but ultimately disappointing 159-7. The only major contribution came with an undefeated 79 not out from the elder Fraser twin who is enjoying a great spell of form. The lack of backup and regular loss of wickets prevented a burst of big hitting that could have put the match out of reach.

In reply Scotton appeared to be cruising to victory little knowing the excitement to come. A brilliant stumping off Goldsmith, returning as a final throw of the dice by captain Shedley caused a collapse that threatened to turn the match however an amateurish no ball with 2 runs required (3 men behind leg) enabled Scotton to scramble home.
