KMCC vs Ripley C.C.

KMCC burn bright until rain snuffs out victory hopes

KMCC lost the toss on a cold and wet day and after a delayed start and were put into bat. After the debacles of the previous weeks, skipper Atkinson took the bull by the horns and opened the batting with C H-C. The first over yielded 11 runs mainly from the skippers bat and set the tone for a hitting burst unseen this term. Several tiles were damaged along with a few bowlers egos as KMCC raced to 100 without loss and even though Brad finally miscued one when on 66 the scoreboard kept on ticking over with Harford-Cross making his second fifty of the season. I Fraser came and went and Cat making his debut in Yorkshire cricket flattered to deceive in a cameo innings of seven but the score had reached 155-3 with H-C not out on 70 before the heavens finally opened and sent the players sprinting for the protection of the leaky pavilion roof.

Tea came and went and just when it looked as if the game might restart the weather gods had their say drenching the wicket and calling a halt on cricket for the day. At last KMCC has seen the basis of an innings from the batsmen and the captains innings inspired fresh hope into his previously beleaguered team.
