KMCC vs Ripley C.C.

Abject display results in defeat

KMCC batted first and struggled throughout their innings to escape second gear and amass a reasonable total eventually finishing up on 119-7, when at least 175 was required to set a testing score. The middle order lacked the hitting power of in-form Brad, and international star Dujon - out for at least 6 weeks with a fractured thumb.

Kirkby's attack huffed and puffed and after Ripley had got off to a flier, to their credit, ensured that the match was not over very quickly - Fettes in particular shone with the ball. As expected however Ripley cruised home with seven wickets in hand. The plus point of the afternoon was the introduction of KMCC debutant Hinchliffe who bowled several overs at quite a pace unsettling the Ripley top order before having to retire to an oxygen tent for a couple of days in order to regain equilibrium.
