Kirkby fail again
KMCC new they were up against it as soon as they had lost the toss and two top order batsmen for nothing in the space of 2 disastrous overs - However for once a total collapse failed to emerge as KMCC steadily fought their way back into the game (Harford-Cross, 60, and Fraser,I, 52) eventually finishing on 159-5 - in fact slightly more positive hitting after the half way mark could have resulted in a much larger total.
Ripley responded as if they would have no worries reaching the target - as KMCC failed to get the early break through despite bowling that severely tested the Ripley openers who included an Aussie import. The big Cheese came into the attack as a last throw of the dice and nearly turned the game in Kirkby's favour taking three quick wickets. However it was a case of two little too late as Ripley scraped home with 5 wickets and three overs to spare
