KMCC Skittled on turnip patch
The less said about this shambles the better! Save to say that it was a clear case of win the toss and win the match on easily the worst pitch in the 2nd division. Kirkby duly lost the toss and were inserted. The pitch spitefullly popped and fizzed particularly in the opening 15 overs and by that time 7 wickets were down for less than 30 only stalwart defence by Blackburn(15*) enabled Kirkby to stagger past the half century to 51 all out
Two early wickets gave some hope as the pitch came this time to Kirkbys aid but 1 man alone mastered the conditions (by closing his eyes and swinging) as Monkton cruised past the required total within 10 overs.
The team were in the pub for 5pm - The landlord of the queens being the only winner as KMCC cried into their pints
