A match which was billed as a showcase final game of a successful season turned into a damp squib following postponement due to a bunch of irritating truckers. The game was eventually played a week late and meant a full complement of top players were not available causing the eleventh hour selection of Tim H-C and the recall of Bernard to the first team squad. However, after losing the toss KMCC initially bowled and fielded relatively well until lethargy struck and several dropped catches later Galphay finished up on 161-8. Of note was PR's 23 over spell taking 4-60 - he may now be found impersonating a board for the next three weeks.
Batting wise - only Dujon really performed striking a quickfire 48 at the top of the innings although Iain and Mark appeared to be guiding Kirkby to victory until both went in quick succession - Mark to a jammy catch on the boundary. It was left to Mark Wensley to bring KMCC to as close as they got playing through the pain barrier after a nasty blow to the jaw and hitting 26 down the order - sadly it was not enough as KMCC fell 11 runs short.
