KMCC made short work of a Galphay side weakened by Key omissions to both their batting and bowling. After winning the toss, the Kirkby strike bowlers set about the Galphay top order and with runs at a premium and regular wickets the away side grafted desperately to secure a point and despite the best efforts of Raistrick (3-10 off 10 overs) and (Fraser 2-23 off 16) Galphay went in at tea satisfied with one point gained (99-8). The KMCC openers proceded to knock off the runs steadily and it appeared as if a 10 wicket victory was on the cards at 67-0 however a spate of rash strokeplay that would have had Geoffrey turning in his grave (were he dead) took a little bit of the shine off the victory as Kirkby edged to victory by 6 wickets.
