KMCC vs Boroughbridge C.C.

Gloom on damp track

The KMCG was an unforgiving mistress last weekend as KMCC were inserted on a drying pitch - however although conditions were not conducive to cavalier stroke play the quality of the boroughbridge attack should have enabled a reasonable score to be posted. It was not to be however as the top order crumbled from 40-2 to 70-7 and yet again sensible batting by the tail-enders Buckton, 25* and Blackburn, 11* ensured a point - Final Score 118-7

At the start of the Boroughbridge innings it appeared that they would struggle to win, Duncan striking early and a couple of chances were misplaced - they proved crucial as slowly the Boroughbridge batsmen acclimatised themselves to the conditions, aided by the pitch drying to a degree where the ball started to come on to the bat. A couple of late wickets gave respectability but it was by far too little too late, Boroughbridge 119-3
