KMCC make it 2 on the bounce
KMCC now brimming with confidence after 6 consecutive victories were more than happy to be inserted on Ernest's batting strip and immediately started to accumulate a total that looked to be well in excess of 200. Pickles(32), reinstated into the side as opener yet again never looked in trouble, while Atkinson(40) and then Fettes(50) took the score to 142-2 with 9 overs remaining, however this is KMCC and the famous Kirkby collapse then ensued as 7 wickets fell for 27 runs, only a textbook forward defensive shot from the last ball of the innings by "point Man"Haigh spared Kirkbys Blushes.
At tea the Blubberhouses team were bright and sparkly, little knowing that they were about to reap the whirlwind. Duncan "The Sheffield Express" Fraser proceeded to reduce the much vaunted Blubberhouses top order to rubble with the new ball the scoreboard at one point reading 18-5, the next partnership made a mockery of their so called peers as they pushed on past 100 without ever looking in trouble. The Sheffield Express was not to be denied however and his reintroduction sparked a second collapse as the remnants of the tail capitulated and KMCC approaching mid-table security for the first time in nearly 2 years.
