KMCC vs Bishop Thornton C.C.

9 man KMCC collapse in batting no show

9 man KMCC were shot out for only 88 against a rampant Bishop Thornton attack. Three quick wickets by their aussie left hander saw Kirkby reeling and although Goldie and Bradley restored some sort of order - the captain being triggered out LBW on 43 with a first 50 of the year beckoning - there was little further resistance. Once again the batting which was so majestic last season failed to fire although there was enough here to suggest that with the exception of the odd bowler little difference in standard exists between the top 2 divisions.

Thornton made very short work of knocking off the desired runs despite some aggressive bowling by Duncan which deserved more and a hattrick ball for the evergreen Rod Pickles. An early finish occurred before the rain and much more grit needs to be shown for this season to be a success.
