KMCC vs Birstwith C.C.

KMCC batting fails once again

A third consecutive defeat in their first home game of the season arose due to another batting collapse this time not inspired by good bowling but the batsmen contributing to their own demise. After another slow start, KMCC struggled to 46-2 before collapsing to 92 all out once again only Skipper Bradley preventing total humiliation reaching 30 not out before running out of partners. Previously Rodney had held his end up manfully for 21 watching a succession of Kirkby Wickets fall.

KMCC were left to rue their profligacy as even 30 more runs would have guaranteed 2 points due to the torrential rain that fell shortly after Birstwith had knocked the runs off. The upside was an early burst by Goldie who took a couple of quick wickets. The onlooking Hooks remained unimpressed - a significant improvement must occur at Pateley next week with all the batsmen realising that there is no significant difference in standard at this level...
