KMCC vs Burton Leonard C.C.

Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory

Everything was just going too well! Despite losing the toss and being inserted on a damp track at the KMCG, KMCC had cruised to the respectable total of 161-5 mainly due to a 98 partnership between Duncan Fraser, who notched his first quickfire 50 of the season and Charles H-C, fresh from Thailand. Tight bowling had then restricted Burton throughout their innings and they were left with the unenviable task of hitting 48 off the last 6 overs with only 4 wickets in hand. Surely KMCC would get off to a winning start for the first time in a long time.... NO. 5.2 overs later everyone trudged off having lost by 2 wickets with plenty of time to contemplate what could have been.
